Animec Pour-on for Cattle is used for the treatment and control of gastro-intestinal nemotades, lungworms, warbles, chotioptic and sarcoptic mange mites and sucking and biting lice of beef and non-lactating dairy cattle.

What are the signs and effects of livestock infected with parasites?


Signs and effects of infected livestock

Infection:Gut Worm

Symptoms: Diarrhoea, decreased appetite, loss of weight

Effects: Gutworm can cause severe damage to the stomach and small intestine which will cause parasitic gastroenteritis, this will not only negatively affect the health of the animal but will affect the profitability for the farmer.

Infection: Lungworm

Symptoms:Short, sharp cough that becomes worse with exercise, in severe cases the animal will have obvious difficulty breathing.

Effects:Lungworm infections cause a highsusceptibility to respiratory viruses and bacteria. Infected cattle are prone to contracting severe bronchial pneumonia which if left untreated can lead to death.

ANIMEC Pour-on solution 0.5%

A clear, slightly yellow coloured pour-on solution containing 0.5% w/v ivermectin.

Animec Pour-on solution 0.5% is indicated for the effective treatment and control of the following harmful

parasites of cattle:

Gastro-intestinal roundworms (adult and fourth stage larvae):
Ostertagia spp (including inhibited O. ostertagi),
Haemonchus placei,
Trichostrongylus axei,
Trichostrongylus colubriformis,
Cooperia spp,
Strongyloides papillosus (adult)
Trichuris spp. (adult).

Lungworms (adult and fourth stage larvae):
Dictyocaulus viviparus.
Eye worms (adult):
Thelazia spp.
Warbles (parasitic stages):
Hypoderma bovis
Hypoderma lineatum.
Mange mites:
Chorioptes bovis,
Sarcoptes scabiei var. bovis.
Sucking lice:
Linognathus vituli,
Haematopinus eurysternus
Solenopotes capillatus.

Biting lice:
Damalinia bovis
Persistent activity
Animec Pour-on solution 0.5% given at the recommended dosage of 500 micrograms/kg bodyweight, controls
infections with Trichostrongylus axei and Cooperia acquired up to 14 days after treatment, Ostertagia ostertagi
and Oesophagostomum radiatum acquired during the first 21 days after treatment and Dictyocaulus viviparous
(lungworm) acquired during the first 28 days after treatment.
It also controls horn flies (Haematobia irritans) for up 35 days after treatment.
Dosage and Administration
Dosage: 1ml per 10kg bodyweight (based on a recommended dose of 500 micrograms/kg bodyweight)
Administration: The formulation should be applied along the mid-line of the back in a narrow strip between
the withers and tailhead.
The product should be used with appropriate dosing equipment.

This product is for application to skin surface only, do not give orally or parenterally.
Contra-indications, Warnings, etc
Do not use in cases of known hypersensitivity to the active ingredients.
Avermectins may not be well tolerated in all non-targets species. Cases of intolerance with fatal outcome are
reported in dogs, especially Collies, Old English Sheepdogs and related breeds or crosses, and also in
Frequent and repeated use may lead to the development of resistance.
The product can be administered to beef cows at any stage of pregnancy or lactation provided that the milk is
not intended for human consumption. The product will not affect the fertility of cows and bulls and can be given
to all ages of animals including young calves.
Symptoms of overdose
No sign of toxicity appeared up to 1.5 mg/kg (3 times the recommended dose rate). No antidote has been

Milk: Not permitted for use in lactating animals producing milk for human consumption. Do not use
in lactating dairy cows including pregnant heifers within 60 days prior to calving.
Operator Precautions
The product may be irritating to human skin and eyes and the user should be careful not to apply it to himself
or other persons.
Operators should wear rubber gloves and boots with a waterproof coat when applying the product. Protective
clothing should be washed after use. Use only in well-ventilated areas or outdoors.
As absorption through skin can occur, in the event of accidental skin contact the affected area should be
washed immediately with soap and water. If accidental eye exposure occurs, flush the eyes immediately with
water and seek medical attention. Wash hands after use.
Pharmaceutical Precautions
Avoid the introduction of contamination during use. The product does not contain an antimicrobial
preservative. Following withdrawal of the first dose use the product within 28 days. Should any apparent
growth or discolouration occur the product should be discarded.
Environmental Precautions
Any unused product or waste material should be disposed of in accordance with national requirements.
Studies indicate that when ivermectin comes in contact with the soil, it readily and tightly binds to the soil and
becomes inactive over time. The product should not enter watercourses as this may be dangerous to fish and
other aquatic organisms. Do not contaminate lakes or streams with unused product or waste material as free
ivermectin may adversely affect fish or certain water borne organisms.

I have received a damaged product from you, what should I do?

First off, if you have received a damaged electrical product from us, do not plug it in. Any electrical products that are plugged in are deemed ‘as used and accepted’ and are not accepted as returns. All damages must be reported to us via phone or email within 24hours of receipt of goods. Please ensure you check your items upon delivery.

How do I begin the returns process?

If you wish to begin the return process, please email us at and ensure the following information is included in your email. Your name, phone number, Order id, the item you wish to return, reason for return and if the product is damaged we require photos of the product.

Once you have sent us all required information a member of our team will assess your claim and will contact you as soon as possible. Please hold off on returning products until a member of our team has called you to confirm.



All returns must be the complete product which includes boxes, manuals and accessories that may have been include with the order.

All returns must be packaged appropriately for shipping, we will not accept responsibility for damages or loss which occur during shipping of a return product.
