Built to last up to 30 years, Clipex fence posts are made from high-tensile steel for strength and durability. The innovative clip system allows for fast, safe installation with minimal tools or labour, while posts resist splitting and damage from animals or machinery. Low maintenance, fully recyclable, and free from harmful chemicals, Clipex fences are cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and ideal for Irish farmland.
Clipex fence posts are designed to provide a long-term, low-maintenance fencing solution, particularly suited to Irish farming conditions. Made from high tensile steel (minimum 450 grade), the posts have an expected lifespan of approximately 30 years, making them a strong alternative to traditional timber posts.
Unlike wooden posts, Clipex posts will not split when driven into the ground, even in harder soils. The clip system is engineered for durability — the pins are riveted using a 10-tonne press, meaning there are no small, loose parts that can fall off or get lost. The clips also sit safely within the perimeter of the post, protecting them from damage caused by post drivers or livestock rubbing against them.
Over their lifetime, Clipex fences require significantly less maintenance than timber fencing. If wire needs tightening, replacing, or adjusting, it can simply be unclipped and repositioned — no pulling staples or damaging posts. The posts themselves can also be lifted and relocated easily, making them ideal for changing paddock layouts or rotational grazing systems.
Clipex fence posts require less manpower and time to install compared to traditional fencing. There’s no need for staples or hammers, making the process faster and safer. No specialist tools or tradespeople are required, and they are particularly useful when working alone or on challenging terrain.
When used with Clipex X™ fence® wire netting, posts can be spaced further apart than standard timber posts, reducing both material and labour costs.
Clipex posts contain no harmful preservatives or chemicals, unlike some treated timber posts that may leach substances into soil and waterways. This makes them safer for:
At the end of their service life, the steel posts are fully recyclable.
Their long lifespan also means:
Because they are lighter and quicker to install, transport and machinery costs are reduced, helping to lower your overall carbon footprint. In environmentally sensitive or protected areas, the reduced need for heavy machinery and ground disturbance means less impact on biodiversity and local ecosystems.
Clipex fencing offers Irish farmers a 30-year, high-strength, low-maintenance fencing system that is quicker to install, safer to handle, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective over its lifetime. It combines durability with flexibility, making it well suited to modern grazing and land management systems.
